Jefferson Security Bank is not participating in the Transaction Account Guarantee Program.
January 1, 2010 -
Since 1869, Jefferson Security Bank has taken every measure to ensure that all customer
accounts are safe. Since it is our policy to maintain the highest possible security standards, we have decided not to participate in the Transaction Account Guarantee Program. We believe that the solid insurance provided by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is more than adequate and adding another layer of protection would only result in increasing the cost of doing business. Keeping expenses in line helps us to continue to offer our customers the best possible loan and deposit rates.
"Jefferson Security Bank has chosen not to participate in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of Jefferson Security Bank with noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will continue to be insured through December 31, 2013 for up to $250,000 under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules."
