Russian hackers stole 1.2 billion unique username and password combinations and more than 500 million e-mail addresses using a bot-net attack and then SQL injection into the website.
This new attack used a built in feature of SQL injection within the login page to steal user names and passwords.
Security professional are recommending that you change any online user name and password that you may have.
Online security companies are working to produce lists of web addresses and email addresses that have been compromised in order for you to test your website/email addresses.
Use caution when testing any online webpage or email address, DO NOT enter any sensitive information such as usernames and/or passwords.
